DELHI, NY -- The Finger Lakes Community College Track and Field team competed at the Region III Championship this past weekend, hosted by SUNY Delhi.
Sean Pebbles won the Region III Championship in the javelin. He set a new school record with a mark of 51.68 meters. Tony Soto finished as the runner up in javelin with a mark of 48.41 meters. Charles Collins also finished as runner up in a pair of events. He completed the 5,000 meters in 17:00.96, just seven seconds off of the lead. In the 10,000 meter run, Collins finished in second place with a time of 34:42.33.
The Lakers will conclude their season this weekend at the NJCAA National Championships, hosted by Mohawk Valley Community College. Chuck Collins will compete in the 5,000 and 10,000 meter runs. Andre Farrell will be in the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes. Sean Pebbles, Tony Soto, and Jordan Rizzieri will be competing in the javelin.
