ROCHESTER, NY -- The Finger Lakes Track and Field team competed at the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational this past Sunday at Fauver Stadium. In the first meet of the season, the Lakers set numerous personal bests and qualified for the Region III Championships in three events.
Freshmen helped lead the Lakers into multiple events at the Region III Championships. Chuck Collins finished the 1500 meters in 4:29.81 to send him to the Championships at SUNY Delhi in May. Sean Pebbles qualified with a javelin throw of 38.22 meters. The Lakers 4x100 meter relay team also hit the qualifying mark with a time of 47.13. The team consisted of Devin Christie, Quinton Parrow, Dominic Vazquez, and Sean Pebbles.
The Lakers will return to action this Saturday at Nazareth College as they compete in the ROC City Challenge.
