Men's Soccer loses to Harford Community College

ROCHESTER N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men’s Soccer team lost to Harford Community College 4-1 this past Saturday. The Lakers played the Fighting Owls on a neutral field at Monroe Community College.

The Fighting Owls’ Antonio Savi started it off very early in the first half with the first goal of the game. Harford kept the lead for a while until Laker’s Raquan Hinds scored his first of the season assisted by teammate Gabriel Mendoza. With Hinds tying the game, the score remained that way up to the half.

The second half began and Fighting Owls’ Savi scored his second goal of the game, this time assisted by Jason Stump. This put the Fighting Owl’s up 2-1. Soon after Savi’s goal, Victor Prado scored the Owl’s third goal being assisted by Savi. The last goal of the game was scored by Fighting Owls’ Corey Alt and was assisted by Pedro Vilela.

Brayden Kane started in goal for the Lakers and was later relieved by Mason Fess. Kane had 5 saves with 3 goals against, while Fess had one save and one goal against.

Laker’s game leaders were Hinds with one goal, Mendoza with one assist, and Kane with 5 saves.

The Lakers play next on Thursday August 31st home, against Hudson Valley Community College at 3:00PM. They look to improve their 0-2 record to 1-2 Thursday.
