In his freshman year in Laker land: Pelkey left a positive impact on the offensive end of the field. As a midfielder in 2012, the Fairport, NY native registered 11 goals and 6 assists in 21 games played. His goal total ranked 6th on the team last year. In his first season with the team, Pelkey scored in 9 of the 21 games he played in. His greatest goal totals came in a pair of home wins over Cayuga CC on 3/21 and Herkimer County CC on 4/27. In both of those contests, the 6-footer combined to tally 4 goals – scoring 2 helpers in each of them. A strong and quick offender, Pelkey, who showed just how great his worth is to the team last season, is only expected to leave an even larger impact on the scoring charts for the Lakers in 2013. His work ethic and leadership are both defined as strong. With a year of learning Coach Stein’s playbook filed away in his memory, the second-year Laker is expected to become a key piece in the teams’ offense in 2013. His production should only rise in his sophomore season as Pelkey is expected to take a large leap forward this spring in the scoring column.
