Men's Basketball Starts off Season With 82-79 Win

HENRIETTA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men’s Basketball team started off their season on a high note on Wednesday night against the Monroe Community College Tribunes. The Lakers won with a close score of 82-79.

The Lakers played an exciting game against the Tribunes. The Lakers won both halves but the lead changed a couple of times throughout the game. The score ended in 36-32 in favor of the Lakers in the first half. The Tribunes were coming up right behind them.

The second half ended in 82-79 again in favor of the Lakers. The Lakers improved both their field goal percentage and three point percentage in the second half and it paid off.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Shane Fanning with 24 points and nine rebounds, and Elijah Idlett with seven assists.

The Lakers travel next to SUNY ESF on Saturday, November 4th. They will play at 3:00pm.
