Men's Basketball Sends Sophomores Off With A Win Against The Lazers

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team pulled out a big win in their Sophomore Game against the Onondaga Community College Lazers. The Lakers won 105-75.

The Lakers honored their two sophomores, Shane Fanning and Trayvon Holt, in a brief ceremony before tip-off.

The Lakers ended the first half with a 45-37 lead. They kept their pressure up and never quit. The Lakers guaranteed their win by scoring 60 more points in the second half of the game. Five Lakers contributed points in the double digits in their win.

The Lakers shot 50.7% in the field as opposed to the Lazer's 32.9%. The Lakers also shot better for three pointers with 47.6%.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Fanning with 27 points, Nyquan McCombs with 26 points, and Elijah Idlett with 18 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists.

This was the final regular season game for the Lakers. They will participate in the MSAC (Mid-State Athletic Conference) Tournament on Friday, February 23rd and possibly Saturday, February 24th at Cayuga Community College. Game times are still TBA.
