Overtime Win Pushes Lakers Into 5 Game Win Streak

CORNING, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team won an exciting game against the Corning Community College Red Barons on Saturday in overtime. The Lakers won 97-94.

The Lakers started out strong, being ahead at the end of the first half, scoring 46 points. They kept up the scoring in the second half, but the Red Barons caught up and ended the second half, tied 88-88. It was a battle in overtime. Both teams did not put up a lot of points. The Lakers just grabbed the win, only scoring three more points than the Red Barons.

The Lakers out-shot the Red Barons both in the field, and for three pointers. They shot 49.4% in the field and 33.3% in three pointers.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Nyquan McCombs with 24 points, 6 assists, and Trayvon Holt with 18 points, and 11 rebounds.

The Lakers will play next at Cayuga Community College on Wednesday, February 14th. They will play at 7:00pm.
