Men's Basketball Finds First Conference Win Of The Season

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Finger Lakes Community College Men's Basketball team won their first conference game of the season this past Thursday against the SUNY Broome Community College Hornets. The Lakers won 79-70.

The Lakers played a hard-fought game against the Hornets. The Lakers had an eight-point lead to end the first half of the game. The Hornets were not going to back down and managed to only score one point less than the Lakers in the second half. It was not enough for them to gain the lead and the Lakers took home the win.

Despite their win, the Lakers fell short in field goal percentage to the Hornets. The Lakers only shot 41.2%, while the Hornets shot 45%. The Lakers did manage to outshoot their opponent in three pointers with a percentage of 33.3%, and the Hornets with 16.7%.

Game leaders for the Lakers were Shane Fanning with 20 points, Elijah Idlett with 16 rebounds, and Nyquan McCombs with 16 points and five assists.
