The Finger Lakes Community College men's basketball team clinched victory on Saturday, November 19 when they faced the Hawks from Mohawk Valley Community College. The Lakers won in overtime fashion by a score of 92-82.
The Lakers were behind following the first half 34-31, but were able to battle back and tie the game at 96 apiece by the end of regulation. They would claim an overtime victory by outscoring the Hawks 23-13. As a team, the Lakers finished with a 51.0 field goal percentage and 68.9 free throw percentage.
Shabazz Mosley led the Lakers with 34 points and 14 rebounds against the Hawks. Jonathan Range had 19 points, nine rebounds, and four assists. Range and Mosley are now tied for second in points/game in Region III, each averaging 22.2. Range is also tied for sixth place in rebounds/game, with 8.3. Shane Fanning finished Saturday's contest with 17 points and six rebounds. Jose Santell rounded out the Lakers scoring with 11 points.
The Lakers will return to action on Thursday, December 1 when they host the St. John Fisher JV squad on Putt Moore Court. Tipoff is set for 7pm.
