Lakers Baseball Gets Swept by Thunder Wolves

Canandaigua, NY -- The Finger Lakes Community College baseball team hosted Niagara County Community College in a Region III double header match-up on Saturday, April 15.  The Lakers fell to the Thunder Wolves in game one while game two was canceled due to weather conditions.

The Lakers did very well controlling the Thunder Wolves in game one.  Their defense gave up only one run to Niagara County through six innings. Heading into the top of the seventh, the Lakers were ahead 2-1.  However, the Thunder Wolves rallied to score two runs and take a 3-2 lead to win the game.

Mike Magnanti finished 2-for-3 scoring both of the Lakers runs.  Nick Ferrino, Chris Karem, and Brett Otto each finished with one hit.  Ferrino also had the only RBI for the Lakers.  Cole DuBois pitched a complete game for Finger Lakes.  He struck out two batters and allowed three earned runs.

The Lakers will travel to Erie Community College on Tuesday, April 18 to face the Kats in a double header.  Following Tuesday's games, they will return home to the Kats in the final two games of the four game series.
